Lo Cheung-shiu (1867 – 30 June 1934) was a prominent Hong Kong businessman and the founder of the Lo family, an influential family in Hong Kong. ==Biography== Lo was the compradore of the Jardine, Matheson & Co., then one of the leading British trading firms in the Far East, until he retired in 1920. Lo was director of the China Light and Power Company and the Hong Kong Construction Company. Lo was director of the Tung Wah Hospital, the leading local Chinese charity in 1915 and later became life advisor to the Tung Wah Hospital and also the Po Leung Kuk, where he was member of the permanent board. He had also served as vice-chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and was on its executive committee for many years. He was made Justice of the Peace and was member of the District Watch Committee. He received a Certificate of Honour on George V's birthday in 1930.〔 He died at 12:30 a.m. on 30 June 1934 at his residence at Conduit Road, Mid-Levels at aged 67 after a lengthy illness,〔〔 leaving estate worth 543,600 dollars. His funeral took place on 3 July and attended by most local leaders in Hong Kong.
